Server log files

When you visit this website, the hosting provider stores technically necessary data in server log files (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referrer, browser and operating system). This data is used solely to ensure the secure and stable operation of the website, is not combined with other data sources and is deleted after a short period. The legal basis is legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Cookies & local storage

This website does not use any tracking or advertising cookies. Only your privacy choice and display preferences (e.g. light/dark mode) are stored in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). This information never leaves your browser and is required for the website to function (§ 165(3) TKG 2021). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Fonts & libraries

All fonts, icons and software libraries (e.g. three.js, Leaflet) are loaded directly from this server. No connection to third-party servers is made.

Contact form & e-mail

If you write to me via the contact form or by e-mail, your details (name, e-mail address, subject, message) are stored to process your enquiry and for possible follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. The data will not be passed on without your consent and will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.

YouTube videos

Some pages embed videos from YouTube (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The videos are loaded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and only after your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Only then is a connection to YouTube established; data such as your IP address may be transmitted to Google and also transferred to the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.

Maps

By default, the travel map is displayed without any external services using data from this server. Only if you activate the detailed map or allow “External media” are map tiles loaded from CARTO (CartoDB Inc., USA) based on OpenStreetMap data. Your IP address is transmitted to CARTO in the process (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). More information: carto.com/privacy.

Share function & external links

The share buttons are simple links. No social network scripts are loaded and no data is transferred unless you click a button. Only then are you redirected to the respective provider, who is responsible for its own data processing.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw any consent given. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with me or with the supervisory authority – in Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority (www.dsb.gv.at).
